It is with deep sorrow and profound gratitude for a life well lived that we share the passing of Carl Ellis Perkins, Jr., who served as Executive Director of the Bartko Foundation for the past 24 years. Carl passed away on December 18, 2025, following a courageous and heroic battle. He was a gentle, patient, caring, and kind leader whose steady presence and unwavering compassion shaped the heart and mission of this Foundation for more than two decades.
Throughout his tenure, Carl dedicated his life to serving others, particularly those most in need within our community. His leadership was rooted in faith, humility, empathy, and a deep belief in dignity and opportunity for all. Carl never sought recognition.Instead, he focused on creating meaningful, lasting change for individuals and families facing hardship. His impact can be seen not only in the programs he guided and the lives he touched, but in the values he instilled throughout the Bartko Foundation.
In honor of Carl’s extraordinary legacy, we are deeply moved to announce that a generous and long-time friend of the Foundation has established the Carl Ellis Perkins Memorial Fund. This new, dedicated fund will allow the Bartko Foundation to expand its reach and provide additional support to more people in our community, further advancing the mission Carl championed so faithfully. The creation of this fund stands as a powerful tribute to Carl’s life of service and his enduring commitment to compassion, equity, and community uplift.
